![]() An early game champions/roles job should be to boost up their lategame carries and win through them rather than winning by themselves. You can't have "roaming mids" somehow scale into strong lategame champions. You can't have "carry junglers" when junglers are gonna be the most impactful role early. But that means that roles that have naturally high impact early due to their position need to have considerably lower impact later. It kept things like Brand or Annie support in check, because they just straight up wouldn't buy vision most of the time, so you could win the map or just gank them instead of them having the exact same vision economy as a higher efficiency character like Sona would, but at the same time you knew almost all the vision was coming from that squishy Sona or Soraka, so there was still something you could do about it by catching them while they were warding. Pro meta was a constant back and forth fight of vision, just like it is now, but your ability to ward effectively and efficiently directly impacted your ability to get other items and do damage to your enemy's economy. Giving supports massive amounts of passive income in stat efficient items they could acquire cheaply (But forcing them to invest in them in the first place) then balancing them by way of vision being a part of your economy was perfect. Philo rush into HoG into Kage's was peak and nobody will ever change my mind. Riot will never go back to the day junglers had wards or other lanes could more reasonably contribute to vision or early game vision existed at all, so junglers and supports WILL ALWAYS be cluster fuck early game machines simply for the fact that their counter was always avoiding them early, it's now impossible without basically losing lane. You basically CANT not have a clown fiesta bot lane because it's impossible to actually play smart with wards or precautions and win lane (also a major reason maokai is so high up). Add to that scryers bloom and junglers taking red trinket. Add to that the jump fruit that puts you over the jungle wall right into bot bush avoiding any river wards. Riot has made it clear they WANT league to have less vision and more high action, it's not just a meta but the overall way they want the game to be played.īot lane basically has 2 to 4 wards the entire early game and you almost always lose lane if you don't have it in lane bushes, which is still made even more difficult by the fact that the alcove exists. I honestly don't think we'll ever see Jungle NOT be a high impact role and the most influential role in the game anymore simply for the fact that older league used to have a lot more vision and less mobility tools. ![]() Live Discussion Archive AMAs Organization Schedule For LEC, LCS, LPL, and LCK Esports Wiki Pages ![]() ![]() Spoiler free Subreddit START AUTO-GENERATION, DO NOT TOUCH Upcoming Matches Match Changes to Server Status Rule Subreddit Information ![]()
